Fair Struggled To Find Her Footing In Las Vegas

Las Vegas Aces release Rookie Dyaisha Fair

Fair struggled to find her footing in Las Vegas

Despite a strong college career, Fair failed to make an impact with the Aces

The Las Vegas Aces have announced the release of rookie guard Dyaisha Fair, who was selected in the second round of the 2024 WNBA draft.

Fair, who was named the Naismith Trophy Women's Player of the Year and a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection during her time at Syracuse, struggled to find her footing with the Aces. She appeared in just 12 games this season, averaging 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.

The Aces are reportedly looking to add more experience to their backcourt, and Fair's release could pave the way for another move. The team is currently in negotiations with several veteran free agents, including point guard Courtney Vandersloot and shooting guard Odyssey Sims.

Fair's release is a reminder that not all highly-touted draft picks are able to make an immediate impact in the WNBA. The Aces will be hoping that their other young players, such as Aari McDonald and Kierstan Bell, can step up and fill the void left by Fair's departure.
